Both players were late withdrawals from the Wales game on Saturday because of hamstring problems.

Tighthead prop Tadhg Furlong, who is recovering from a calf injury and did not feature in the Wales match, has also been overlooked for the game between the two top-ranked sides in the world.

Connacht scrumhalf Caolin Blade, who was capped against the USA in July 2021, has been called up as a replacement for the experienced Gibson-Park while uncapped Leinster prop Michael Milne also joins the squad.

Milne was a member of the Emerging Ireland squad that competed in Bloemfontein in last year.

Ireland hammered Wales 34-10 in their tournament opener in Cardiff while the French squeezed home 29-24 against Italy in Rome.
