Racing ordered to pay 750 000 euros in back taxes

The Paris club had been subject of an initial probe by customs officials in January 2012 on its four previous seasons.

That investigation found that Racing had avoided paying taxes under a local law dating back to 1997 which exonerated any rugby or football played in Colombes, where their stadium is, from paying taxes.

But financial officials argued that when the club changed its status from an association to commercial company in 2001 matches were open to be taxed.

A first backdate totalled 659 648 euros, followed by a second of 91 805 euros for the 2012-13 season.
