REPORT: Kolbe set to ditch Toulouse
NEWS: Springbok star Cheslin Kolbe is set to leave Toulouse.
According to beIN Sports, Kolbe will be joining Toulouse’s Top 14 rivals Toulon.
It will be a big move away from the current French and European champions as Kolbe is still contracted with Toulouse until 2023.
It is believed Kolbe has agreed to a three-year deal with Toulon.
Kolbe is set to join his new team in late October, according to the report. However, he will likely be a part of the Springboks’ squad heading into the end-of-year tour after the current Rugby Championship campaign.
The 27-year-old is set to link up with fellow Springbok teammate Eben Etzebeth at Toulon.
Toulon has also signed South African-born lock Quinn Roux from Connacht. Cornell du Preez has also joined the French club from English club Worcester Warriors.
Kolbe has been at Toulouse since 2017 after he left the Stormers and Western Province.
