Seven-week ban for France international

NEWS: Racing 92 flank Bernard le Roux was handed a seven-week ban for a dangerous tackle on Clermont’s Wesley Fofana.

The South African-born France international Le Roux escaped with just a yellow card for the tackle during Racing’s 17-40 defeat by Clermont on September 2, but the disciplinary committee of the body overseeing the Top 14, the LNR, decided the original punishment fell short.

Le Roux will be eligible to play again on October 29, good timing as France play their first November international, against South Africa, two weeks later on November 10.
