Sharks sign All Black lock
Sale Sharks have made their second big signing in a week, landing All Black lock Bryn Evans on a two year deal.
Evans' arrival follows the capture of legendary Irish scrumhalf Peter Stringer earlier this week.
The six feet, five inches (196 centimetres) star heads to the AJ Bell Stadium from French club Biarritz to bolster the Shark's second row.
Evans, 30, joined Biarritz after three successful seasons at London Irish – where he made 75 appearances and scored four tries.
He hails from Hastings in New Zealand, played in the Super 14 competition for the Blues and Hurricanes.
The Kiwi made his All Blacks debut in 2009 against France and in the same season helped the Hurricanes to the semifinals of the Super 14.
"Bryn is a great signing for us and will, I am sure, play a major part in our line out next season," Director of Rugby Steve Diamond said.
"When I heard he was available both Dan Braid and Michael Patterson gave him great references and we look forward to him joining us for pre-season training."
