Suspended suspension for ref abuse

Brive, the Top 14 French club, have had their ground suspended for one match but the suspension has been suspended for three years.

This follows verbal abuse directed at the referee David Rosich after the match against Biarritz on 19 September. Brive lost 15-12. It was match without tries – five kicks vs four kicks.

The spectator shouted abuse at Rosich. Fortunately for him, club stewards were on hand to escort him to his changing room. The club’s president Simon Guilham was on hand to calm spectators and then apologised to Rosich.

The suspension follows an inquiry by the disciplinary committee of the Ligue Nationale de Rugby, the body which regulates professional rugby in France.
