Toulon sign Aussie international

European champions Toulon have signed Australian international prop Salesi Ma'afu from Northampton on a two-year deal.

The 32-year-old will add depth to the front row after Martin Castrogiovanni's departure to Top 14 rivals Racing Metro, and captain Carl Hayman's retirement.

Ma'afu played Super Rugby for the Brumbies and Western Force before moving to English Premiership side Northampton in 2013.

The Sydney-born prop, capped 14 times by Australia, won the Premiership title and the European Challenge Cup with Saints during his first season at Franklin's Gardens.

Also in the Top 14, newly-promoted Agen have signed South African centre Johann Sadie as they continue to build ahead of next season.

The 26-year-old arrives from Super Rugby side the Cheetahs and has signed a two-year deal, the club confirmed.

Sadie started his career with Western Province before spells with the Stormers, Bulls and then the Cheetahs.

The former South Africa Under-20 international is Agen's second signing from the southern hemisphere in the last two days after the arrival of New Zealand Sevens International George Tilsley, also on a two-year deal.

Agen gained promotion after a 16-15 victory over Mont-de-Marsan in the Pro D2 play-off final on May 24.
