Covid-19 hits Bok camp...again
NEWS: The Springboks’ preparations have been disrupted by Covid-19 again.
SA Rugby revealed that the Boks’ scheduled training session on Monday has been suspended following a positive test in the squad.
The Boks are set to face Georgia again in Johannesburg on Friday.
Jacques Nienaber’s side won the first Test 40-9 in Pretoria.
“The players have been placed in preventative isolation prior to further PCR testing and a review of the testing data by the Medical Advisory Group (MAG),” said a statement.
“Lock Lood de Jager returned a positive outcome in scheduled testing and, because of his close contact with a number of squad members, the entire group has gone into isolation.
“An update will be issued following the review by the MAG and the further testing.”
It’s the second time in just over a week the Springboks’ preparations were disrupted by Covid-19
On Sunday, June 27, the Springboks cancelled a planned training session when scheduled testing protocols returned three positive COVID-19 test results.
