European Nations Cup fixtures
FIRA-AER has announced the fixtures for the 36 countries taking part in the seven divisions of the European Nations Cup for 2008-09.
The competitions in each division will last over two seasons, at the end of which the bottom team in each division will be relegated and the top teams in all but Division 1 will be promoted.
In September 2008 there will be a play-off between Cyprus and Israel. The winner will play in Division 3C, the loser in Division 3D.
The competition will double as a World Cup Qualifier. The first two teams in Division 1 will qualify for the 2011 World Cup as Europe 1 and Europe 2. The third placed team will be in competition against the winners of the next five divisions, starting in May 2009.
