Irish lock cited for stamping

Ireland lock Donnacha Ryan has been cited for allegedly stamping on an opponent during Ireland’s 20-10 win over Samoa in Dublin on Saturday.

Ryan cam on as a replacement and has been cited by the independent Six Nations Citing Commissioner, Jean Etienne Bernard of France, for his actions contrary to law 10.4(b) during the match at the Aviva Stadium.

The hearing will take place in London on Tuesday before an independent Six Nations Disciplinary Committee, chaired Roger Morris (Wales), assisted by Simon Thomas (Wales) and Achille Reali (Italy).

Meanwhile, the disciplinary hearing for Samoan hooker Ti’i Paulo, who was cited for two alleged dangerous tackles during the Connacht v Samoa match at the Sportsground last Tuesday, will also be held in London tomorrow.

The hearing will be chaired by Simon Thomas and also includes Achille Reali and Roger Morris.

A statement will be issued once the outcomes of the hearings are known.
