Player Ratings: The mighty have fallen

The world champions were rattled at various stages of the game by Ireland's attacking game and determination in the physical exchanges.

The All Blacks did show glimpses of brilliance but it was not enough on the day.

Warren Fortune rates the New Zealand players!

15 Ben Smith:

He was the All Blacks' best-attacking weapon and he scored a crucial try as well.

7/10

14 Waisake Naholo:

His great run in the first half set up George Moala try, but he needed to do more around the park

6/10

13 George Moala:

He did not rack up as many running metres as the rest of his teammates, but he got over the advantage line on a few occasions and scored a try as well.

6/10

12 Ryan Crotty:

He did not do too much on the field before he went off injured after 25 minutes.

4/10

11 Julian Savea:

He was dangerous when he was put in a bit of space and his speed gave the Irish a few problems.

7/10

10 Beauden Barrett:

He was not at his best in the first half, but he certainly ignited the All Blacks' backline in the second half.

6/10

9 Aaron Smith:

He was out of sorts in the first half and was eventually replaced by TJ Perenara early in the second half.

5/10

8 Kieran Read:

Not one of his best games. He struggled to impose himself in open play and he could have done more work in the line-outs.

5/10

7 Sam Cane:

He made more tackles than any other player in his team and he made a nuisance of himself at the breakdowns.

6/10

6 Liam Squire:

Compared to his previous two outings, it was a disappointing display by the big man. However, he did get over the advantage line on a few occasions

6/10

5 Jerome Kaino:

He struggled in the line-outs and hardly made an impact in open play like he normally does.

5/10

4 Patrick Tuipulotu:

He just needed to do more in the physical exchanges for his team and like Kaino, he was not the most commanding at line-out time.

5/10

3 Owen Franks:

He was solid in the scrums, but other than that he was a passenger for most of his time on the field.

5/10

2 Dane Coles:

The hooker once again got some decent metres over the advantage line but found it hard at times to find his locks in the line-outs.

6/10

1 Joe Moody:

His discipline was shocking in this game. He got a yellow card for a tip tackle in the first half and then produced another dangerous tackle in the second half.

4/10

Replacements:

16 Codie Taylor (On for G Moala, 70th min):

Not enough time to be rated

17 Ofa Tu'ungafasi (On for J Moody, 59th min):

He did nothing worth mentioning when came on the field. Very poor.

2/10

18 Charlie Faumuina (On 75th min):

Not enough time to rated

19 Scott Barrett (On for T Tuipulotu, 45th min):

He made a big impact when he came on and he scored a fantastic try as well.

7/10

20 Ardie Savea (On for J Kaino, 59th min):

He did not get enough ball to work with in the final 20 minutes.

5/10

21 TJ Perenara (On for A Smith, 45th min):

He brought some much-needed life into the All Blacks' backline and got his name on the scoresheet as well.

7/10

22 Aaron Cruden (On for W Naholo, 55th min):

He looked exciting with ball in hand, but like Ardie Savea, he did not get enough of it.

5/10

23 Malakai Fekitoa (On for R Crotty, 25th min):

The centre had some good touches in the midfield and got over the advantage line with some powerful runs.
