Bok hangs up his boots

The 34-year-old Bekker announced the news via an Instagram post after his Japanese side Kobelco Steelers' final Top League season match on Saturday.

Bekker made his Springbok debut in 2008 against Wales in a 43–17 victory in Bloemfontein.

He accumulated 29 Test caps and was a phenomenal addition to the Stormers and Western Province.

He left the Cape Town-based union in 2013 to join the Japanese side.
