De Groot will appear before an independent Judicial Committee having received for the red card.

The prop was initially given a yellow card in the 72nd minute but that was upgraded to red just before the siren rang as the All Blacks took a comfortable 71-3 victory in Toulouse.

At the player’s request, the hearing will take place on Monday, September 18.

The independent Disciplinary Committee that will hear the matter will be chaired by Brenda Heather-Latu (Samoa), joined by former players John Langford (Australia) and Leon Lloyd (England).

De Groot will likely miss the third World Cup match against Italy on September 30.

That could extend to their clash with Uruguay on October 6 and beyond, pending the outcome of that review.
