“Bruce passed away early this morning after a short battle with cancer. Ever optimistic, Bruce remained positive to the end. We are heartbroken, but thankfully he died peacefully,” she said.

New Zealand Rugby Chief Executive Steve Tew said the rugby community mourned the loss of another All Black.

“We are very sad to hear of Bruce’s passing, and we extend our warmest thoughts and condolences to his family. Again, another life gone too soon,” he said.
