All Black Bruce Deans passes away
The family of Bruce Deans have confirmed that the former All Black has passed away, aged 58. He was All Blacks number 891.
His sister Nicky Hobbs said today:
“Bruce passed away early this morning after a short battle with cancer. Ever optimistic, Bruce remained positive to the end. We are heartbroken, but thankfully he died peacefully,” she said.
We are saddened to learn of the passing of All Black number 891, Bruce Deans. The thoughts of the New Zealand rugby community are with Bruce and his family at this time.

New Zealand Rugby Chief Executive Steve Tew said the rugby community mourned the loss of another All Black.
“We are very sad to hear of Bruce’s passing, and we extend our warmest thoughts and condolences to his family. Again, another life gone too soon,” he said.
The family have asked for privacy from the media.
