All Black resigned to long lay-off
All Blacks wing Cory Jane said he was resigned to sitting out the Super Rugby season with the Hurricanes and may also miss New Zealand's end-of-year tour due to a ligament injury.
Jane ruptured a ligament in his right knee during pre-season training with the Hurricanes last month and said persistent swelling meant surgeons had been unable to operate so far, delaying his rehabilitation.
The 30-year-old said he had a slim chance of returning for the All Blacks' end-of-year tour to Europe but had been told not rush his comeback in order to minimise the chances of the injury reoccurring.
"I'm hoping I'll play a little bit of rugby this year, that's if it all goes well," he told reporters.
"At the moment, I'm not depressed about it. It's part of the game, you get injuries and you've just got to deal with it."
Jane has scored 16 tries in 41 Tests for the All Blacks.
