All Blacks coach Hansen linked to Japanese club

TRANSFER TALK: New Zealand head coach Steve Hansen is set to become the director of rugby at Japanese club Verblitz according to media reports.

Hansen revealed last year that he would quit as All Blacks head coach following the World Cup 2019.

Thus far, the 59-year-old has not confirmed his post-World Cup plans, however the Daily Telegraph reported that he would take up the role as director of rugby at Verblitz, which is currently coached by Jake White.

The Australian newspaper also revealed that current Waratahs forwards coach, Simon Cron, could replace White as head coach of the team.

Meanwhile, Stormers current director of Rugby Gert Smal will be joining the club later this year.

All Blacks captain Kieran Read and Springboks Willie Le Roux will also join Verblitz after the World Cup held in Japan.

The 29-year-old Le Roux will leave Wasps and link up with fellow South Africans  Reniel Hugo, Jason Jenkins, Carl Wegner, Lionel Cronjé, Clinton Swart and Gio Aplon at Verblitz.
