All Blacks dealt triple injury blow
INJURY UPDATE: New Zealand Rugby confirmed three players who are ruled out due to injury for the remainder of the international season.
Prop Tyrel Lomax, hooker Samisoni Taukei’aho and loose forward Shannon Frizell have been ruled out of contention for the Nations Championship Northern Series due to injury.
Frizell injured his knee during the second Bledisloe Cup Test in Sydney, and a scan confirmed a PCL rupture of the left knee.
The injury is likely to require approximately six weeks of recovery.
Taukei’aho was also injured during the Sydney Test, suffering a tear of his gastrocnemius (calf) accelerating off a maul in the game.
The injury is likely to require a four- to six-week recovery.
Lomax has been managing a disc injury in his neck since the Super Rugby season.
This has remained aggravated, so he will remain home to give the injury proper time to settle with treatment.
All other injuries from the Bledisloe Cup series are still under assessment ahead of the Nations Championship Northern Series squad being named and assembling on Tuesday, October 27.
