Negativity towards Boks is 'deserved' says Rassie

SPOTLIGHT: SA Rugby Director of Rugby Rassie Erasmus says there will not be any complaints from the Springboks after the criticism they have been receiving in recent weeks.

After starting their Rugby Championship campaign with two wins over Argentina, the Springboks then suffered three defeats in a row, which has left them third in the standings ahead of the final round.

The Boks also lost their No.1 ranking to the All Blacks ahead of their 17-19 defeat to their arch-rivals in Round Five.

Much has been said about the Boks’ game, especially after that defeat to New Zealand where Nienaber’s side kicked a lot of good attacking ball away when they were in the All Blacks’ half.

After that latest defeat, Rassie took to Twitter to say that the Bok camp agrees with the criticism they have been receiving.

“When we were winning with 2 or 3 points we were not complaining about the credit and positive comments we received, so please be sure that we understand, agree and won’t complain when we get the deserved negativity when we lose with a few points!!,” Erasmus tweeted.

The Boks will end their Rugby Championship campaign with another match against the All Blacks on the Gold Coast on Saturday.

They will then face Wales, Scotland and England on their end-of-year tour in November.
