New video shows Blues kickers compete for coffee
The Blues have released an epic training video that sees Beauden Barrett, Dan Carter and Rieko Ioane compete in a kicking competition for the ultimate prize of free coffee for a week – made by the losers of course.
Since the Blues announced the signing of Carter and Barrett, there was always going to be a debate as to who the better player – and kicker – is.
The challenge was laid out for each player to score a banana drop kick that would swerve around the uprights from an acute angle in testing Auckland conditions.
When the trio gets to the nitty-gritty of the wager, Barrett comes us with the suggestion that the winner will have his coffee made by the other two for the entire week.
Safe to say that Ioane was the first to be eliminated before Barrett and Carter went head-to-head to determine the winner.
