Player ratings: ABs run rampant
The All Blacks turned on the style in their six-try drubbing of Scotland at Murrayfield on Sunday, with Dan Carter running the show.
Resting first-choice players such as Kieran Read, Ma’a Nonu and Conrad Smith had no ill-effect on New Zealand, at least not on attack, as they eased to a comprehensive 51-22 win.
Dan Carter was the undoubted star of the show, displaying his attacking prowess in the most elegant of manners and reminding all and sundry why he is the world’s pre-eminent pivot.
Coach Steve Hansen will not be pleased with his charges' defensive effort, but the result was never in question.

15 Israel Dagg
Solid at the back and ran a good support line to score the opening try before limping off after 26 minutes.

A class act out on the wing, having no problems under the high ball and finishing off a sweeping movement with a try in the corner.

Would have wanted to make a bigger statement in a rare run-on appearance. He looked dangerous on attack and scored a late try but he also slipped a tackle and conceded a penalty.

There was a brilliant step and offload that created a try-scoring opportunity, some good touches and a backline best nine tackles.

Grabbed two tries but his kicking game clearly needs work.

10 Dan Carter
Simply sublime on attack. An uncharacteristic early error aside, Carter cut the Scottish defence to shreds. He was the architect of most of the All Blacks’ tries, made telling contribution on defence and kicked nine from 10 from the tee.

9 Piri Weepu
Needed a big game and looked the part. He looked fitter and was quicker to the ball than usual, created opportunities with some deft touches around the fringes and held up Matt Scott over the line.

Showed his full array of skills with some barnstorming runs, good play from the back of the scrum and a beautiful line-out steal.

As you’d expect, McCaw led the tackling stakes with 12 hits and was a menace at the breakdown.

Did himself no favours in being yellow-carded for stamping opposite number Alasdair Strokosch on the head. In that cynical moment, he undid all his previous good work and will probably miss next week's Test.

Exceptional workrate, made 11 tackles, and was dependable in the line-outs but he did concede two penalties.

Had a good day in the line-outs, where he also poached one against the throw, and was industrious across the park.

Made little ground with ball in hand, missed tackles and was matched in the scrum.

Recovered well after a scrappy start that included two penalties and showed good strength to power over despite the attention of Scottish defenders.
