Sonny Bill to return in 'meaningful' B-Team game

Williams joined the All Blacks' extended squad last week and will be available for selection in the Bledisloe Cup Test opener.

Williams returns to action after missing two months of rugby due to the ban he received for the red card he obtained during the second Lions Test.

At first, the original judicial panel accepted three of the matches the double World Cup-winner would miss, and said the fourth did not meet the threshold of a "meaningful" match.

The game in question is on August 11, when the All Blacks will play a warm-up against both Counties Manukau and Taranaki, one-half against each team.

However, according to 1 News Now, William's ban is due to be lifted after this Friday's encounter between the All Blacks' squad and the Counties-Manukau and Taranaki provincial teams.

The New Zealand newspaper explained that Williams will feature for Counties 'B' side when they take on Bombay Rugby Club 'B' in Auckland.
