VIDEO: Is there a crack in All Blacks' armour?
WATCH as All Blacks captain Kieran Read snubs teammate Anton Lienert-Brown in the changing room after New Zealand’s 34-36 loss to the Springboks in Wellington on Saturday.
In a video posted by All Blacks TV, Read is seen entering the changing room and shaking hands with Damian McKenzie and Beauden Barrett before ignoring Lienert-Brown.
Some in New Zealand are suggesting Read didn’t want to shake hands with the centre because of his performance in the loss to the Boks.
Lienert-Brown threw an intercept pass just after half-time which resulted in a try for Cheslin Kolbe. It helped the Springboks extend their lead to 31-17 in the match.
There is also a possibility that Read had already shaken Lienert-Brown’s hand on the field before the players made their way to the changing room. The captain also does not shake hands with All Blacks assistant coach Ian Foster when he walks into the room.
The victory was South Africa’s first win in New Zealand since 2009 and left the home side to chalk up their first Rugby Championship loss in three years.
