Bok Du Toit wins big among peers

PLAYERS CHOICE AWARDS: Springboks star forward Pieter-Steph du Toit walked away with the coveted Players’ Player of the year award.

Du Toit follows the in the footsteps of Springbok hooker Malcom Marx and Springbok captain, Siya Kolisi, who nabbed the prestigious award in 2017 and 2018, respectively.

Aside from bagging the prestigious accolade, the World Rugby Player of the Year was named the Defender of the Year and Forward of the Year at the third annual Players Choice Awards.

Du Toit’s fellow Springboks teammates Cheslin Kolbe and Herchell Jantjies also picked up awards.

Kolbe, who was named Midi Olympique‘s Player of the Year in France on Monday, received the Backline Player of the year.

While Jantjies was voted the Best of the Bench and also received the #LoveChange Award.

The winners were decided by South Africa’s professional rugby players in a voting process which was run by MyPlayers, the South African rugby players’ organisation.
