Botha’s first task as head coach is to prepare the Indian team for the third division Asian Rugby Championship in June.

India, who are currently ranked 82 in World Rugby, have been grouped with host Indonesia and China.

The Bulls legendary flyhalf will be assisted by Ludwiche Van Deventer, who has been appointed backs coach, former Bulls hooker Christiaan Buitendach  (forward coach) and coach Jannie Brooks (conditioning coach).

According to the South African newspaper the Rapport, Botha’s new responsibility will have little impact on his current role as a SuperSport analyst.
