REACTION: Springbok superstar Eben Etzebeth has responded to criticism from Bok legend Bakkies Botha.

In an interview with Midi Olympique, Botha expressed his disappointment with Etzebeth’s early exit from France and Top 14 strugglers Toulon.

The 30-year-old Etzebeth recently confirmed that he was returning to South Africa to join Durban-based franchise the Sharks.

Botha said the 30-year-old Rugby World Cup winner hadn’t shown his best side while in France, a league which he felt didn’t suit him.

“Eben Etzebeth? Incredible fighter, best second row in the world,” Botha told Midi Olympique.

“But I regret that he only shows his best face with the Springboks.”

And now Etzebeth has taken to social media to remind Botha of the “honour code”

“@BakkiesBotha4 – Noted.” was Etzebeth’s response on Twitter

“Next time you want to ENFORCE an opinion, you’ve got my number.

“#exspringbokteammates #onthoujouerekode [remember your honor code]”
