SPOTLIGHT: The Springboks are set to be without wing Sibusiso Nkosi for Saturday’s Test against Wales in Cardiff.

Over the weekend, there were reports that Nkosi was having some problems relating to his passport and visa.

On Monday, Springbok assistant coach Deon Davids confirmed that the 25-year-old has not joined the squad yet ahead of Jacques Nienaber’s team announcement on Tuesday.

“All the players have arrived. Some arrived a bit late because of [club] games on Sunday. In terms of Sbu, there are still some logistical issues that need to be clarified and he will hopefully join us soon.

“He is currently not with the squad, but other than that all the players have joined the squad.”

When asked if Nkosi will miss Saturday’s game, Davids added: “That might be a possibility. As I have said because a lot of the players came in a bit late, we are still busy with medical assessments and his situation will also be discussed.”

With the uncertainty around Nkosi and Cheslin Kolbe unavailable because of injury, the Boks are set to tweak their back three for Saturday’s clash.

Davids believes there are enough players in the squad who can cover on the wing.

“We got guys like Aphelele Fassi,” said Davids. “We also got a lot of versatile players like Jesse [Kriel] who can play wing and centre.

“We got Lukhanyo Am, who at times bailed us out in that position.”
