Four additions to Boks squad
Four players have been added to the Springbok squad for their training camp in Stellenbosch next week.
Trevor Nyakane, Lodewyk de Jager, Teboho Mohoje and Lizo Gqoboka have been invited to join the Boks.
The three Free State Cheetahs forwards and the Eastern Province Kings prop are not nationally contracted, but as their teams did not qualify for the Currie Cup semifinals, their unions had been requested to release them for the training camp.
"Trevor, Lood and Oupa formed part of the Springbok squad for the Rugby Championship and it would be good to have them involved in our camp," said Springbok coach Heyneke Meyer.
"Lizo has shown a lot of promise this year and although he spent a day with us in camp in Cape Town last month, he was injured and couldn't train, so we'd like to get another opportunity to work with him.
"We'll re-assess the situation after the Currie Cup semifinals before we decide to possibly invite more players to the camp, after two more teams have been eliminated from the competition," he added.
The 20 nationally contracted Springboks, as well as any additional players who are invited after their teams had been eliminated from the Currie Cup, will get together for a week-long camp in Stellenbosch on Monday.
