VIDEO: Kolisi breaks silence on #BLM

WATCH as World Cup-winning Springbok captain Siyamthanda Kolisi breaks his silence about the Black Live Matter saga.

In a post on his Instagram account, said for him it was “more than just about sport”.

“It is everyday life.”

He said it felt for him, since he was a young child in the townships, that his life didn’t matter.

“My mentality was always about survival,” Kolisi explained.

He went on to elaborate on his struggles and the dramatic cultural changes he went through when he enrolled at Grey High in Port Elizabeth.

He said he encourages people to “have those difficult conversations”.

“There is no time to be scared or silent,” he said.

“I will no longer keep quiet.”
