Murder accused to come clean

Five men accused of beating a rugby fan to death outside King's Park rugby stadium are expected to hand themselves in to police.

The five men, who were not named in the report, are accused of beating to death former Royal Marine Brett Williams, 29, following the Sharks game against the Melbourne Rebels last weekend.

According to the report the five would hand themselves in on Wednesday.

KwaZulu-Natal sport MEC Ntombikayise Sibhidla-Saphetha has condemned the killing of Williams.

"The department will engage the stadium management to ensure that such incidents do not occur in future, as stadiums are supposed to be safe places where sport-loving people and their families can enjoy themselves," he said.

Sibhidla-Saphetha urged any witnesses to co-operate with police.

Police spokesman Captain Thulani Zwane said the motive for the killing was not known.
