The 29-year-old has been linked with a possible move to a French outfit, but poured cold water on the subject back in September during a Rugby Championship press conference.

“I have not heard anything from any French club,” said the 29-year-old.

“I asked my agent when I saw the article and he actually said he would handle it.

Following his Test debut against Wales in Washington back in 2018, the powerful prop waited until 2021 to become a regular in the Bok set-up following the retirement of the legendary Tendai Mtawarira post the 2019 World Cup Final.

The 2023 World Cup winner has been at the heart and soul for club and country, striking fear into his opposition with his brute strength and skill to match.

The Sharks also announced the contract extension of young scrumhalf Bradley Davids who will remain with the Durban based franchise until June 2027.

The youngster face stiff competition for the No.9 jumper – with World Cup winning Springboks Grant Williams and Jaden Hendrikse ahead of him in the pecking order.
