Pollard injury a concern for Boks
INJURY UPDATE: Springbok coach Jacques Nienaber will be keen to get an update on the injury status of flyhalf Handre Pollard.
Leicester Tigers were forced to pull the Springbok star, Pollard, out of the team for their Premiership semifinal clash with Sale Sharks.
The World Cup winner was scratched from the matchday squad with an undisclosed injury.
A Leicester Tigers statement reads: “Leicester Tigers have been forced into a late change to the matchday squad for today’s Premiership semifinal against Sale Sharks.
“Handré Pollard is out through injury and has been replaced at fly-half by Jimmy Gopperth, who was originally named among the replacements.
“Charlie Atkinson comes into the side on the bench in place of Gopperth.
“The Leicester Tigers matchday squad is otherwise unchanged for the knockout fixture at the AJ Bell Stadium.”
Sale Sharks reached their first Premiership Final for 17 years as they ended Leicester’s hopes of back-to-back titles with a 21-13 victory at the Salford City Stadium.
