Rassie pays 'respect' to Boks' biggest rivals
SOCIAL SPOTLIGHT: Whether it is a tongue-in-cheek video, a compliment or just a statement, the South Africa Director of Rugby Rassie Erasmus continues to take Twitter by storm.
Erasmus, who is currently serving a double suspension that was handed down by World Rugby following the famous 62-minute video, paid ‘respect’ to All Blacks in his latest tweet.
On Tuesday, the former Springbok coach commented on a video clip of the Springboks’ historic 36-34 win over the All Blacks in 2018.
The victory was South Africa’s first win in New Zealand since 2009.
Prior to the win the Springboks suffered two consecutive defeats to Argentina and Australia and headed to Wellington under a huge amount of pressure.
However, despite the naysayers, Rassie’s troops came from 0-12 down to win the Wellington showdown.
Reflecting on the win, Erasmus wrote it boosted his team’s confidence.
He added: “We all are trying to be so consistent great like the All Blacks.
“And I am sure by just looking at our players reaction – just such a big thing for us to win vs AB.
“Actually just respect,”

We all are trying to be so consistent great like the All Blacks and I am sure by just looking at our players reaction(just such a big thing for us to win vs AB) Actually just respect pic.twitter.com/Jcxzd5XLDY
