REPORT: Former Bok hooker stabbed in farm attack
NEWS: Former Springbok hooker Lukas van Biljon sustained multiple stab wounds during a robbery at his family farm in the Free State, according to reports.
The Springbok’s father was shot and wounded in the attack and is believed to be in hospital.
The incident happened this past weekend.
In a News24 report, Free State police spokesperson Captain Loraine Earle said: “At about 00.30 [on Saturday], the police were called to a smallholding at Oranjeville, where the Van Biljon family is staying.
“It is alleged that six armed men entered the house.”
Earle added: “[The robbers] also tied the children with cable ties.”
It’s still not clear how severe Van Biljon’s wounds are, but it is believed his father Andre is in critical condition in hospital.
Earle said two of the six attackers were arrested at a roadblock in Viljoensdrift shortly after the incident.
The suspects that were caught were due to appear in the Heilbron Magistrate’s Court on Monday on charges of house robbery and attempted murder.
