VIDEO: Famous RG fight - 'They picked the worst player'

Rudolph Gerhardus Snyman, RG for short, is as entertaining as he is scary.

However, one of the most endearing sights of his illustrious career came earlier this month when he held off four opponents at the same time.

It is a famous incident popularly nicknamed the ‘Full chicken and four Portuguese/prego rolls’.

Boks Office host Hanyani Shimange, with his regular crew of Springbok legends Jean de Villiers and Schalk Burger, as well as guest Evan Roos, had a good chuckle about one of the most amusing incidents of the year.

Roos, axed from the Springbok squad ahead of the two-Test Rugby Championship tour to Australia, said he was “confused” when the incident happened.

“I was running to defend, after the line-out, and looked in front of me and there were no Portuguese players.

“I was wondering: ‘Where is everyone?’

“I looked left and saw this brawl,” Roos said.

Burger quipped: “The full chicken and the four prego rolls.”

Shimange suggested that the Portuguese players did not hold back when it came to scuffles.

However, Roos said they chose arguably the worst player to pick a fight with.

“There is a reason. He is the biggest player,” the utility loose forward said.

“Throughout the game, there was no other niggly stuff.

“They only targeted RG [Snyman].

“They didn’t the rest of us.”

Roos, 24, who was not selected by Rassie Erasmus for the start of the Rugby Championship, played seven Tests between his debut against Wales in Bloemfontein in July 2022 and the encounter with Portugal at the same Free State stadium earlier this month.
