VIDEO: 'Rassie for Bafana Bafana'
FROM THE SIDELINES: South Africa’s Minister of Sport Zizi Kodwa has made a very bold request on Rassie Erasmus.
Kodwa currently in France for the World Cup, believes South Africa’s Director of Rugby Erasmus is the only one who can transform the national football team Bafana Bafana.
The Springboks have always been a bearer of hope for the Rainbow nation – boasting three World Cup trophies (1995,2007, 2019).
And now they have again managed to unite a country as they prepare to take on the arch-rivals the All Blacks in the final of the World Cup 2023.
The national cricket team, the Proteas, despite not being World Champs, are still regarded as one the best in the world.
However, their fellow compatriots have fallen short in the football arena.
Bafana Bafana failed to qualify for the World Cup on numerous and the last time they played in a World Cup was in 2010 when they were hosts – which guarantees automatic qualification.
And while the football coaches and administration continue to look for solutions it seems like Kodwa has found one.
In the video, Kodwa asked @rugby365com: “What is Rassie going to do after the World Cup?”
“He must help us with Bafana Bafana. We need that mindset.
He concluded by chanting: “Rassie for Bafana Bafana”
