#VIDEO: Reinach breaks silence on RWC Final omission
In the latest episode of Fresh Start, host and former Scotland international Johnnie Beattie sits down with South Africa and Montpellier scrumhalf Cobus Reinach as he delves into everything Springboks.
The No.9 sheds light on the famous Bomb Squad and not being selected for the Final.
“Personally it was the toughest week of my life,” Reinach said when asked about watching the #RWC Final from the sidelines.
“Complete buy-in doesn’t mean you are not going to feel bad [for not being selected] or sorry for yourself.
“But then you have to think of it differently and see it as you have three training sessions to be the best opposition player or Aaron Smith [All Blacks scrumhalf] you can be.
“You help the guy, who is starting, to be ready for the game.
“Yes I was angry, and didn’t feel good but it was not about me.
“There were a lot of guys who missed out but that is the heart of our team – everyone pulling together and doing their job if you feel like it or not.”
