Not only are the Welsh on an eight-match winning streak – and have won their last three matches against the Springboks – but the RugbyPass Index is giving Wales a 72 percent Win Likelihood for the match at Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium on Saturday.

Not surprising that Wales attack coach Rob Howley was in a confident mood in the build-up to Saturday’s Test.

“It’s just making sure you get the process right in preparing the team and I feel we have done that pretty much right,” Howley told a media briefing.

“We prepared ourselves with conditioning.

“That was a focus area before the Scotland game [opening match of their November campaign].

“It was important to beat Australia in the light of what’s to come at Rugby World Cup.”

The Welsh assistant coach said there won’t be a lot of space on the Millennium Stadium pitch this coming weekend.

“South Africa will be highly motivated,” Howley said, adding: “There’s a landscape when we play South Africa. The contact area is pretty crucial.

“When we play South Africa, there always seems to be a lot of aerial kicking. We always enjoy playing South Africa.

“It will be one of our toughest games this November, but we have certainly got a lot of self-belief and confidence.

“We are going for our ninth win in a row and the players don’t want that streak to end.”

“Howley spoke of the journey to the World Cup and suggested that selection process will continue in this game.

“When you win games you deserve another opportunity,” he said.

“The challenge is to get the selection right for South Africa.”

Both team line-ups will be announced on Thursday.
