The 29-year-old playmaker opens up on the rollercoaster ride of not being selected for the World Cup due to injury and then joining the camp during the tournament.

Host Jim Hamilton also made the playmaker revisit his heroic goal-kicking in the semifinal and the Final.

Pollard also touched on South Africa’s unique tactics and the celebrations at the end of the tournament, which included RG Snyman’s drive to get everyone tattoos.

After a decade playing for the Boks, Pollard also explains why Fourie du Preez is his greatest Springbok player.

“In the previous generation, I was lucky to play a couple of years with Victor Matfield, Fourie de Preez, Jean de Villiers and Schalk Burger,” said Pollard.

“I would probably have to say at that time for me it was Fourie de Preez. He was just a freak.

“I learnt so much in that time. From the way he saw the game, the way he saw the kicking game, the beauty in all that stuff.

“It was really just unbelievable. He was one of the greats.”

Big Jim and Pollard also discussed their Leicester Tigers connection and the appeal of playing in the NFL after Louis Rees-Zammit made the move to the United States.

This is truly a β€˜must-watchβ€˜ special.
