Showing the camaraderie and grit that won them back-to-back World Cups, the Boks chose to entertain fellow travellers with a song and dance.

“Our flight was cancelled,” Shanthini Naidoo said on social media, adding: “But there are bright smiles and songs – as only South Africans can do.”

“It’s after midnight in Heathrow.

“The Springboks are dancing.

“Surreal. We’re tired and dirty, and don’t know what time our flight will be rescheduled.

“But the Springboks are dancing.”
