Barnes, Mitchell to face Stormers

Waratahs coach Michael Cheika expects to have Wallaby stars Berrick Barnes and Drew Mitchell available for the team's next home game, against the Stormers in Sydney on Saturday, May 11.

Having sustained a minor tear to his hamstring in the game against the Chiefs, which prevented him travelling to South Africa, Mitchell is expected to be back in action in the Waratahs' home clash against the Stormers in two weeks' time.

The game could also see the return of Barnes, after the playmaker last month underwent surgery on a dislocated thumb sustained in the game against the Cheetahs.

After breaking his right fibula (lower leg) in Eastwood's Shute Shield win over Randwick last Saturday, Lachie Turner underwent surgery on Monday and will miss the rest of the season.

Also injured in Shute Shield action, Manly lock Greg Peterson will next week undergo surgery on a dislocated shoulder.
