Bonnaire cited for stamping

Clermont Auvergne flank Julien Bonnaire has been cited for foul play following the European Cup match against Scarlets on Saturday.

Bonnaire is alleged to have stamped or trampled on the Scarlets No.8 Rob McCusker during the first half of the Pool Four match at Parc Y Scarlets.

 

The complaint was made by the match citing commissioner Mike Rafter.

 

Christopher Quinlan has been appointed as the independent Judicial Officer for the hearing which will take place by video conference on Thursday.

Law 10.4(b) A player must not stamp or trample on an opponent

Under the IRB Sanctions for Foul Play, Law 10.4(b) carries the following sanction entry points: Low End: two weeks; Mid-Range: five weeks; Top End: nine to 52 weeks.
