New high for Columbia

With very little international rugby going on there was chances for the minnows to climb the World Rugby rankings with Columbia jumping seven places to 50th.
Colombia scored 10 tries in a solid victory over Mexico in Mexico City on Saturday and have jumped seven places to 50th, the highest position they have occupied since the World Rugby Rankings were introduced in October 2003.
This victory brings the year to a close for Colombia, one which saw them crowned South American Division B champions after victories over Ecuador, Peru and Venezuela on home soil in August and climb 10 places in the rankings.
Sweden, the Philippines, Trinidad & Tobago, Guyana, Cayman Islands, Papua New Guinea and Uganda all fall one as a result of Colombia's climb.
The defeat was also costly for Mexico as they dropped six places to 66th, although they will still end 2014 sitting eight places higher in the rankings than they began it following victories over the likes of Bermuda, Jamaica and the Bahamas.
The beneficiaries of Mexico's fall are Latvia, Chinese Taipei, Malaysia, Bermuda and China who all rise one place.
