Welsh prop in Oz jail

Former Wales prop Craig Mitchell is set to spend a night in jail in Australia.

Mitchell is trying to organise to pay compensation to a man he assaulted in a Brisbane bar last weekend after the British and Irish Lions beat the Wallabies.

Australian Associated Press reported on Thursday that Mitchell, a prop who has played 15 Tests and traveled to Australia as a tourist to watch the Lions series, was arrested early Sunday after an assault on Cian Barry.

Mitchell pleaded guilty in Brisbane Magistrates Court to one count of aggravated assault occasioning bodily harm and was ordered to pay compensation to Barry.
