Tahs lock cops one-week ban

Waratah’s lock Ollie Atkins has been suspended from all forms of the game for one week.

This follows after he was found guilty of "tackling a player in the air" at a judicial hearing in Sydney on Wednesday.

The incident occurred in the sixth minute of play of the Waratahs 24-16 win over the Rebels during their opening Super Rugby trial match in North Hobart last Saturday.

Atkins was cited under law 10.4(i) and was deemed to have tapped or pushed the foot or feet of Melbourne Rebel’s lock Luke Jones, who was jumping for the ball in open play.

Atkins will be available for selection from Sunday, February 10, for the Waratahs or his club side.
