Match officials named for play-offs and finals

The South African panel of referees' selectors has chosen the referees for the semi-finals and finals of the three main SA Rugby Union's competitions.
The matches concerned are the semi-finals and finals of the Currie Cup Premier Division, the Currie Cup Division 1, the Under-21 and the Under-19.
The referees have been named in two panels for the matches. The appointments to individual matches will be made later.
The selectors have proposed that all National Panel referees (currently 12 in number) be regarded as unattached. That would mean that a referee could referee in his province of residence because he is a top referee and his neutrality would not be affected. This would be from 2007 onwards.
The selection panel expresses its satisfaction with the fact that the transformation targets were achieved and even exceeded in some instances, and all on merit.
The following match officials have been appointed to officiate in the semi-finals and finals of the Currie Cup Premier Division and Currie Cup First Division:
JC Fortuin, Marius Jonker, Craig Joubert, Jonathan Kaplan, Mark Lawrence, Willie Roos
A notable absence is Tappe Henning whose illustrious career is coming to an end. He said: "I said to André there's no point in appointing me. There are lots of young referees who could do with the opportunity."
The following match officials will do duty in the semi-final and final matches for the Under-19 and Under-21 competition matches:
Gareth Lloyd-Jones, Pro Legoete, Sindile Mayende, François Veldsman, Mtheleni Msileni, Johann Meuwesen, Michael Cupido, Louis Mzomba, Marc van Zyl, Roderick Barry.
