Referees for '11/12 Sevens Series

The International Rugby Board has announced the 12 referees for the nine legs of its 2011/12 Sevens World Series.

If the 12 referees, there are two each from Australia and South Africa and one each from Argentina, New Zealand, England, Samoa, Fiji, Japan, France and Scotland.

The IRB has also announced a new managerial structure for the Sevens. Former Test referee Steve Lander of England, and will become the new IRB Sevens referee manager in succession to Keith Lawrence of New Zealand who has retired. Then the IRB has created the new post of Sevens referee coach and former Test referee Scott Young of Australia has been appointe  to the post.

The 2013 Sevens World Cup will take place in Moscow prior to Sevens’ Olympic debut in Rio de Janeiro in 2016.

Round 1: Gold Coast, Australia on 25-26 November 2011
Round 2: Dubai on 2-3 December 2011
Round 3: Port Elizabeth, South Africa on 9-10 December 2011
Round 4: Wellington, New Zealand on 3-4 February 2012
Round 5: Las Vegas, USA on 10-12 February 2012
Round 6: Hong Kong on 23-25 March 2012
Round 7: Tokyo, Japan on 31 March-1 April 2012
Round 8: Edinburgh, Scotland on 5-6 May 2012
Round 9: London, England on 12-13 May 2012
