Referees for European Rounds 3 & 4
The appointments are done by the EPCR's selection committee chaired by Joël Jutge who was previously World Rugby's manager of referees.
They will be start on 8 December and 15 December 2016.
Each of the two rounds will be home and away matches for the same opponents.
There are some big contests, including that between Ulster and Clermont, for Clermont are the only team in the Champions Cup with a full house of 10 points after the first two rounds. Wayne Barnes and Marius Mitrea will referee those matches.
Connacht vs Wasps is another big one. Connacht top Pool 2 with nine points while Wasps are second on seven.
In the Challenge Cup four sides each have 10 points – Gloucester, La Rochelle, Ospreys and Edinburgh, while Enisei of Russia and Cardiff each have nine points. That means that the big up in the Challenge Cup is Gloucester vs La Rochelle.
There are six rounds before the knock-out stages (quarterfinals and semifinals). The final of the Challenge Cup will be at Murrayfield on 12 May 2017 and the final of the champions Cup will be the next day, also at Murrayfield.
