Referees for Europe's quarterfinals
European Professional Club Rugby has announced the referees for the quarterfinals of the Champions Cup and the Challenge Cup over the weekend of 3-5 April 2015.
The referees appointed to the Challenge Cup quarters Jérôme Garcès of France, Johnny Lacey and George Clancy of Ireland and Nigel Owens of Wales. The Challenge Cup quarters will be refereed by Romain Poite and Pascal Gauzère of France, JP Doyle of England and Marius Mitrea of Italy.
In the quarterfinals of the Champions Cup England have four teams, France three and Ireland one. Of the match officials seven are from Ireland, five from Wales and four from France.
In the quarterfinals of the Challenge Cup, four of the teams are from England, two from Wales, and one each from Scotland and Ireland. Seven of the match officials are from France, four from England, two each from Italy and Scotland and one from Wales.
In all, England have eight teams, France three, Ireland and Wales two each and Scotland one. France have 11 match officials, Ireland seven, Wales six, England four and Scotland and Italy two each.
The semifinals are on 17-19 April with both Finals in Twickenham on 1-2 May – the Challenge Cup at the The Stoop and the Challenge Cup at the main stadium.
