Referees for Europe's quarters

The European Rugby Cup has announced the referees for the quarterfinals of the Heineken Cup and the European Challenge Cup.

Top referees have been appointed to these top matches in the Heineken Cup – Chris White in his 49th Heineken Cup match, Alan Lewis in his 59th, Wayne Barnes and Nigel Owens. Obvious absentees are Christophe Berdos and Alain Rolland.

The referees for the European Challenge Cup quarterfinals are Scottish, Irish, French and Italian, but all the matches will be played in England.

The appointments are made from the European Rugby Cup’s panel of referees by a subcommittee apointed for that purpose after a review of reports on the referees from assessors and club officials.
