Referees in European Cup Finals
Unsurprisingly, Nigel Owens of Wales has been appointed by the European Professional Rugby Clubs (EPRC) to referee the Final of the Champions Cup while Jérôme Garcès of France will referee the Challenge Cup Final.
The Challenge Cup Final will be played at The Stoop in Twickenham on Friday 1 May 2015, the Champions Cup Final at Twickenham on Saturday 2 May 2015.
This will be the fourth time that Owens will have refereed the Final, which will be a record. The previous three occasions were in 2008 Munster vs Toulouse), 2009 (Leinster vs Leicester Tigers) and 2012 (Leinster vs Ulster) when it was called the Heineken Cup.
Alain Rolland of Ireland refereed the 2014 Final between Toulon and Saracens, his third such Final.
Garcès refereed the Challenge Cup Final in 2014 when Northampton Saints beat Bath. It was then called the Amlin Challenge Cup.
